Azerbaijan has voiced serious concerns over the Constitutional territorial claims by Armenia, calling for a revision of the Armenian constitution. Azerbaijani officials argue that the current constitutional framework in Armenia legitimizes claims on territories internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, thereby escalating regional tensions.
The statements attributed to Azerbaijani top officials emphasized the need for Armenia to address these issues through constitutional amendments.
However, it would be not easy for Armenia to accept such demands from Azerbaijan. Armenian officials have yet to respond formally to Azerbaijan’s demands. However, political analysts suggest that any constitutional changes would require significant internal consensus within Armenia, which might be challenging given the current political climate.
