A car crashed into a parked SUV that was part of President Joe Biden’s motorcade on Sunday night, causing a loud bang and startling the president and his wife. The incident occurred as the president was leaving his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, where he had spent the weekend preparing for the upcoming midterm elections.

The car, which appeared to be speeding, collided with the rear of the SUV, which was blocking traffic on the street. The SUV was pushed forward and hit another vehicle in the motorcade. The president’s car, which was several vehicles ahead, was not affected by the crash.

The president and the first lady were seen looking back at the scene of the accident in videos shared on social media. They were quickly escorted away by Secret Service agents and continued their journey to their home in Greenville, Delaware.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police. No one else was injured in the crash. The Secret Service said the incident was not related to the president’s security and that the car was not targeting the motorcade.

The president’s campaign office did not comment on the incident. Biden is expected to resume his campaign activities on Monday, when he will travel to Pennsylvania and Ohio to rally support for Democratic candidates in the midterm elections.
