China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with a high-level delegation of foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries in Beijing on Monday. The delegation included representatives from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the ministerial committee appointed by the Arab-Islamic Summit, which covers the whole Muslim world.
The meeting was held amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza, where more than 12000 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes since October 7, 2023, following a cross-border attack by Hamas militants.
China has repeatedly called for an immediate ceasefire and urged the international community to take urgent action to stop the “humanitarian disaster” unfolding in Gaza.
