China’s President Xi Jinping has congratulated Mohamed Muizzu on his victory in the Maldives presidential election, according to a statement from the Chinese foreign ministry.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Maldives relations and hopes to work with Muizzu to deepen cooperation in various fields and promote the Belt and Road Initiative.
