The foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) gathered in Brussels to discuss Israel’s war on Gaza amid growing demands from many countries around the world to put sanctions on Israel and be held accountable for war crimes.

The meeting, convened by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, aimed to coordinate the bloc’s response to the crisis and explore ways to support a ceasefire and a political solution.

Inside the EU bloc, a massive division and reaction came on to hold Israel accountable for violating international law and targeting civilians and hospitals.

Many European countries criticized the US’s role and to be a partner in committing war crimes in Gaza.
