Georgia Shovi landslides deaths toll rises to 19

According to the latest news reports, the number of people killed in the landslide that hit the resort town of Shovi in Georgia on August 4, 2023 has risen to 19.

The Interior Ministry of Georgia said that 19 people are still missing and that search and rescue efforts are ongoing.

The landslide was triggered by heavy rain and buried the town under millions of cubic meters of mud and debris. This is one of the worst natural disasters in Georgia’s history.
