Indonesian Mount Semeru volcanic eruption kills 13 people

At least 13 people were killed in Indonesian East java island as the result of the Semeru volcano eruption on Saturday. According to Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency (BNPB), the death toll rose to 13.

The spokesperson Abdul Muhari of Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency (BNPB) said that 98 persons are injured.

The sudden eruption of Mount Semeru’s resulted in a huge panic among local communities. Thousands of people fled and the spewing lava and ashes turned several villages into darkness.

This volcanic activity took place in the very dense population of East java island.
