Iran and Armenia recently signed a $500 million arms deal, Iran International reported on July 24. The agreement includes a range of military equipment that Tehran will supply to Yerevan, significantly bolstering Armenia’s defense capabilities.

The deal features various types of advanced drones, including the Shahed 136, Shahed 129, Shahed 197, and Mohajer models. These drones are known for their versatility and effectiveness in both reconnaissance and combat operations.

Additionally, the arms deal encompasses sophisticated air defense missile systems. Among them are the 3rd Khordad, Majid, 15th Khordad, and Arman systems, which are designed to enhance Armenia’s ability to defend its airspace against potential threats.

This significant military agreement marks a deepening of defense ties between Iran and Armenia, reflecting a strategic partnership in the region. The introduction of these advanced systems is expected to have considerable implications for the balance of power and security dynamics in the area.
