Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a directive to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to “punish” Israel in response to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. According to an IRGC official, the order will be implemented “in the best possible way,” signaling Iran’s commitment to avenge Haniyeh’s death.
The official emphasized that the retaliation would be carefully planned and executed to maximize its impact. The IRGC, known for its influence in regional conflicts, has vowed to carry out Khamenei’s command, intensifying tensions in the already volatile region.
This development follows a series of escalations between Israel and Iran-backed groups, raising concerns of further violence. Israel has yet to respond to the IRGC’s statement.
