The death toll from the Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip has risen to more than 195, according to Palestinian health officials. The attacks, which targeted a network of tunnels used by Hamas fighters, also injured hundreds of civilians and destroyed dozens of buildings in the densely populated camp.

The international community has condemned the Israeli attacks on Jabalia and called for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access to Gaza. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said the airstrikes may be disproportionate and could potentially constitute war crimes.

Several Arab countries, including Egypt, Jordan, and Qatar, have also denounced the attacks and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The Jabalia refugee camp is home to more than 120,000 Palestinians who fled or were expelled from their homes in what is now Israel during the 1948 war. It is one of the most crowded and impoverished places in the world, with limited access to basic services such as water, electricity, and health care. Israel has repeatedly bombed the camp in previous wars and conflicts.
