A tragic traffic accident in Tajikistan claimed the lives of 10 people and left 14 others injured on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The accident occurred in Kulob city, when a truck with brake failure collided with several cars and two residential buildings.
The truck driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a minibus, a sedan, and a motorcycle before hitting the houses. The impact caused severe damage to the buildings and the vehicles, trapping some of the victims under the rubble. The rescue workers arrived at the scene and managed to pull out the survivors and the bodies. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and the extent of the damage. The truck driver is among the dead, according to the ministry. This is one of the worst traffic accidents in Tajikistan in recent years, as the country struggles with poor road conditions and safety standards.
