Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in front of the Chilean parliament building in Santiago on Saturday, demanding an immediate end to Israel’s military offensive in Gaza.
The demonstrators waved Palestinian flags, chanted slogans and held signs that read “Stop the genocide in Gaza” and “Chile supports Palestine”. They also denounced the Chilean government’s silence on the ongoing conflict and urged it to take a more active role in promoting a peaceful solution.
The protest was organized by various social and political groups, including the Palestinian Federation of Chile, the largest Palestinian community outside the Middle East.
According to the organizers, more than 12000 people participated in the march, which was peaceful and without incidents. The protesters also expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination and statehood.
