The recent escalation of violence between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has sparked a wave of anti-Semitic incidents in the West, as well as a wave of pro-Israel propaganda in the media. Some analysts and activists have accused the Western media of using anti-Semitism as a tool to deflect criticism from Israel’s war crimes and human rights violations in Gaza, and to silence the voices of Palestinians and their supporters.
However, instead of holding Israel accountable for its actions, some Western media outlets have focused on portraying Israel as a victim of Hamas terrorism and anti-Semitic hatred, while ignoring or downplaying the suffering and resistance of the Palestinians.
In addition, some Western media outlets have also conflated anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism, implying that any criticism of Israel or support for Palestinian self-determination is inherently hateful or racist.
