The 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) is underway in New York, with world leaders convening to discuss and address some of the most pressing global challenges. The UNGA 2023 will focus on financing for development, pandemic preparedness, universal health coverage and the fight against tuberculosis.
The UNGA 2023 will also feature a special summit on 18-19 September, where heads of state and government will review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide high-level political guidance on transformative and accelerated actions leading up to the target year of 2030 for achieving the Goals.
The UNGA 2023 will run until 29 September, with various high-level meetings, dialogues and side events taking place throughout the week. The UNGA 2023 will provide an opportunity for world leaders to reaffirm their commitment to multilateralism, cooperation and solidarity in the face of unprecedented challenges and opportunities.
