Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has sharply criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Russia, labeling it a setback to global peace efforts. Zelenskyy expressed disappointment over Modi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin amidst ongoing tensions and conflict in Eastern Europe.

On his post on X Zelenskyy said: “It is a huge disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts to see the leader of the world’s largest democracy hug the world’s most bloody criminal in Moscow on such a day,”.

Modi’s trip to Russia, which was officially described as an effort to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss economic cooperation, has sparked controversy.
